Updates to Our In-Kind Donation Policy

Dear Community Members,

Thank you all for your ongoing commitment to our mission, specifically through in-kind donations over the years. Last year, we distributed $167k in goods to families that were either housing insecure, leaving shelter, or moving into safe and permanent housing. We could not do so without your unyielding support.

To expand our material support program, we are streamlining our process for donations. FPP has created a specific list of goods that our families typically request from us and are always in high demand. 

Effective November 1, we will continue to accept the following items at any time:

• Children’s clothes and shoes

• Linens

• Toys and games

• Small furniture

• Small household appliances

• Small electronics

• Unexpired, unopened toiletries

• Unopened diapers, baby wipes, and formula

Providing families with larger items remains one of the most impactful ways we offer support. To ensure these items go directly to families urgently in need, we will accept the following goods by appointment only:

• Large furniture

• Large household appliances

• Large electronics

• Mattresses

• Vehicles

Appointments can be made by emailing resources@familypromisephl.org. We ask that you include a picture of the item.

Moving forward, we will not have the capacity to accept the following items:

• Adult clothes and shoes

• Medication or medical equipment

• Automotive parts

• Hazardous materials, such as batteries, gasoline, tires, oil, paint, pesticides, chemicals, household cleaning supplies, medicine, and syringes

• CDs, DVDs, VHS, and any other form of external media storage

• Non-children books

• Building and construction materials

• Non-perishable food items

If you are looking to donate something that is not listed, please fill out the donor request form on our website. A team member will reach out to let you know whether we have a family in need of that item.

It has truly been amazing to see the difference an engaged and generous community can make. With your support, we look forward to helping families feel at home as they enter a new chapter of permanency for many years to come.
